Quick thoughts on comics: Men of War #1
It’s okay. I got really close to liking it, but it’s not quite there. I have no real knowledge of Sgt. Rock, so this was a purely new experience for me.
There’s a lot of WildStorm flavour to it. It reminded me a lot of Chuck Dixon’s Team 7 comics, which I enjoyed. It’s got a little bit of StormWatch Team Achilles where normal grunts have to engage superhumans in battle.
But so far, while the premise is interesting, the characters aren’t. Yet. But there’s enough stuff that’s almost good that I’ll come back for another issue.
