Quick thoughts on Comics: StormWatch #1
Where lots of other nerds had big expectations from books like Batgirl or Superman, for me, the WildStorm related DC relaunches are the ones that have to live up to my too-high expectations.
So this one kind of let me down. I do like that StormWatch is kind of the Torchwood of the DC Universe, they work behind the scenes, dealing with superhuman stuff without people knowing about it, and that they are the current incarnation of something that stretches back hundreds, if not thousands of years, to Cornell’s other book, Demon Knights.
This issue didn’t really introduce the characters very well, which is fine, it’s a team book and there’s room to meet everyone. The art is also kind of mediocre. There were a few big moments, and the art didn’t deliver.
But I still love WildStorm, no matter what, so I’m in this to the next bitter end.
