Quick thoughts on comics: Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #1
I like it. It’s fun, and Lemire’s really going for a Grant Morrison-lite thing with his new 52 books. There’s a bunch of neat ideas splashed about, and while I think Morrison had better stunted dialogue for Frankenstein in his Seven Soldiers series, there’s a nice chunk of relationship building, which I didn’t really expect out of this title.
Alberto Ponticelli’s art is a good fit, I think. It’s a bit messy, but very appropriate for the setting and characters. So far, the “Dark” titles of the New 52 are really doing well. They’re hitting that Wildstorm vibe that mashed up traditional superheroes into other genres to create something interesting.
