Quick thoughts on comics: Legion Lost #1
Absolutely incomprehensible.
The Legion of Super-Heroes is another DC franchise, like Green Lantern, that I have no time for, and don’t understand how it works or has fans. So again, with these new #1s, I went in with as open a mind as possible, thinking that if there was ever a time to show me why the Legion is awesome, this would be it.
But this comic was just plain confusing. Couldn’t figure out who these people were, what they could do, and why they were doing it. It wasn’t even laid out in a slow-burn, mysterious way, either. Just lots of shouting and explosions and technobabble.
The art’s kind of nice. I don’t know if Pete Woods is trying a new, rougher style or if it was rushed, but he makes the best out of a jumbled mess of a story, but his art’s not good enough to keep me around.
