Quick thoughts on comics: Supergirl #1
I was not a fan of the previous incarnation of Supergirl, so writers Michael Green and Mike Johnson had that going for them, and they didn’t didn’t have to work that hard to be better than what’s come before. They wisely have chosen to reboot the character completely, though we don’t get much insight into her character in this issue, it’s a complete origin story with her crash landing on Earth.
Mahmud Asrar’s artwork is the standout here and I’m in for another issue or two to see where it goes. This might be one of the few times in my life I’ve kept on a book because of the artwork over the story or writer, but Asrar gets it done and gets it done right.
