Quick thoughts on comics: The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Men #1
Bleegh. Here is another lesson in why you don’t let artist write comics. I’m not the biggest Gail Simone reader but I know she can do way better than this, so I’m placing the blame for this heavy-handed mess of a story squarely on Ethan Van Sciver, whose talents I have always felt were overrated, even as an artist.
Yildiray Cinar’s art is quite nice, actually, which makes the terrible writing even more of a shame.
